This extra tall, extra thick, coin medallion ring features a 2001 New Zealand 10c coin.

The artwork depicts a detailed Maori koruru, or carved mask. This type of mask is typically fixed to gable apex of the Maori meetinghouse. Designed by NZ coin artist James Berry based on traditional Maori artwork.

Completely hand-fabricated from .925 sterling silver sheet and wire, these tall rings feature detailed stamp and chisel work up the sides as well as studs all the way around the medallion setting. The coin itself has been minted in copper-nickel. The coin does not contact the skin at any point. Only the face has been left open.

This ring will be sized to your finger before it is completed. The bezel in the image has been left open, as the wide channel band will be sized-to-order, and then soldered to the reverse before refinishing the final ring.

Please tell me your desired ring size in a message with your order.

20% of the sale from this ring will be sent directly to Portlight, an organization working towards Harvey relief efforts in Texas and Louisiana, and focused specifically on assisting people with disabilities. Learn more about Portlight here: http://www.portlight.org/

As with all handmade and one-of-a-kind jewelry, utmost care should be taken to keep jewelry clean and dry. Never wear your pieces while bathing, swimming, or washing dishes to avoid having them submerged in water. Bones and stones are porous and susceptible to become weak when they get wet. Metals can tarnish and lose their patinas more quickly if they get wet or washed with chemicals frequently. Also, please remove your pieces before any strenuous activities as they are fragile and parts could be knocked loose or fall out. Treat your jewelry like the unique piece of art that it is and it will remain in good condition for ages.
